“The Geode”
The renovation project imagined by Loci Anima is based on 3 objectives: the enhancement of the heritage, a masterpiece of brutalism; immersion in the image; comfort and accessibility.

Designed by architect Adrien Fainsilber and engineer Gérard Chamayou to house the world’s largest hemispherical screen in 1985.
The Geode, a geodesic sphere 36 metres in diameter made up of 6,400 polished steel triangles, houses a 1,000 m² and 26 m diameter screen dedicated to OMNIMAX projections.
The room is completely remodelled, around a new IMAX 4K 180° projection system, IMAX 6.0 sound and new 27m diameter hemispherical format screen and 24m wide IMAX Native format, made up of 559 microperforated aluminum panels.
Creating a new dichroic glass façade — Dichroic glass gives the façade a unique ability to change colors, evolving according to the viewing angle, the intensity of the light, and the variations in the time of day, creating a captivating and vivid kinetic effect.
Creation of a new reception experience, with The enhancement of architectural heritage through light: the illusion where light seems to pass naturally through the coffered ceiling. With an immersive installation, the entrance hall becomes the symbiosis between revealed structural material and virtual image, video mapping and spatialized sound inspired by the major cinematographic genres: fantasy, science fiction, adventure.
