The Jules Weitz Building in Lyon, designed by the firm Loci Anima, is a remarkable example of architectural rehabilitation combining industrial heritage with functional modernity.
A reinvented industrial heritage
Located on Václav Havel Square, in the ZAC des Girondins (69007 Lyon), the Jules Weitz building was originally a factory for manufacturing lifting equipment, emblematic of Gerland’s industrial era. Built at the end of the 19th century, it was almost demolished before benefiting from rehabilitation in 2021. Loci Anima succeeded in preserving its character while adapting it to contemporary uses.
